Safe to keep Hot Water Shut off valve on the closed position?

Good afternoon,

I rent an apartment and as I was doing dishes, i went to turn the hot water knob to turn the water off. Only to find out, it won’t stop running! I turned the shut off valve to the closed position for the hot water, which of course stopped it.

My concern is; I am leaving for a week long vacation and don’t have the time to fix the faucet myself and the landlord cant get out here any time soon either. Is it safe the keep the shut off valve under the sink, closed for that long? Or will it build pressure and burst?

Thank you :)
