Can I ask Gf more questions about what happened?

Early on our relationship she told me it happened when she was a teenager. It was a family friend. She told me that she doesn’t know if she dreamed it. And that the abuser had now died.

I didn’t want to ask her more but I wondered what she meant “if she dreamed it” and I sometimes wanted to clarify like - how old she was and how did happen, did it affect her a lot in her teens. But I also don’t want to bring up painful memories just because of my curiosity
