Do yall keep the frontier throughout your game play?

So I just got this game 3-4 days ago and love it, but I think all the other ships (except phoenix I think it’s called) are the ugliest things I’ve seen 😭 so do yall buy new ships or keep the frontier when yall play? Since you can mod the ships is it even worth buying a new one when you can just customize it to be over powered?
