Apparently it is an airbnb unit above us

Hello i am not sure if this is the right place to ask about this but i am beyond frustrated and tired of this.

For context we live near the city area.

It is a small apartment with about only 16 ish units.

Since the time we moved in, the noise from upstairs has been unbearable. The running, stomping, and dropping things make super loud noise and echos in my unit and literally scares me to the point i scream because im so startled.

I have been contacting the apartment manager (it is a privately owned apartment) about this issue for months, and i have video footage of all the noise. You will be shocked.

The manager keeps letting also know and states that the unit upstairs will be more careful and that they will have thicker rugs to muffle the sounds. Which obviously has not been done since it is getting WORSE EVERYDAY.

I hear their footsteps louder than mine in my own unit, and keeps us awake/make it difficult to fall asleep at night due to the noise. It really is affecting our daily lives.

So after talking to the manager several times, i went upstairs months back and talked to these couple with two kids to be more careful. They said they will try. I literally almost cried out of frustration.

Since then, nothing is better.

I went up again today because it was beyond tolerable and i could literally tell that they just got home. I recorded the noise and went up.

Guess what?

Different people. I was super confused. Then they tell me they are tourist with three freakin kids and this is an airbnb.

What the actual fuck. I had no idea. The management is not trying to do anything and wants a three way call to “resolve” this.

Im shocked and baffled that the unit is airbnb.

I cannot tolerate this more, i signed a two year lease on this without knowing that the unit will be airbnb or noisy.

I am stuck and really dont know what to do. What can or should i do?
