How to play a character who is a soul bound to a suit of armor?

Yes, this is a bit of a rip-off of Alphonse from FMAB, but I really want to play a character like that. Would I just use a warforged character and flavor it differently? I feel like thats the best way, but I'm curious whay you guys have to say.
