Navigation in SR2?

I just finished SR1 and had a good time but as someone not too smart and directionally challenged, way to often I would just get stuck on where to go and what to do. I ended up using a guide a lot.

No fault of the game though, that’s all on me.

Was just curious if SR2 is more of the same or a bit more straightforward?
