Car Impounded, Stranded 16 hours from home.
I just need some opinions on this and if I have grounds to do anything about it or just face all of my consequences.
Today I was pulled over going 141 in a 100 the officer said if I was going 140 I would have got a ticket but since I was going 141 he had to impound my car.
I am 1800 kilometers away from home with low funds and am now most likely losing my job, I came with my family for a funeral and we were 30 minutes from our destination after a 16 hour straight drive when this happened.
The cop had me empty my vehicle onto the side of the road and then had my car towed. I waited for an hour outside in the hot sun in bear country with my kids and all of our stuff for our ride to come.
I now have to wait until Thursday to get my car, I only have a couple days off work for the funeral I have no way home and no way to support ourselves here for 7 days.
My ticket says I was going 141 and is only worth 350 dollars the impound said it would be 600-700 dollars that includes the tow and storage so all of this for 1000 dollars.
Not that it matters but I and 3 others were driving the same speed passing a semi truck at the end of a passing lane he came for me the only one with an Alberta plate. Why am I to believe that his radar at 141 is correct if it was 140 this scenario would've played out much differently.
