Laptop won't detect another monitor via HDMI (windows 10)
My laptop (msi GL72M 7RDX) won't let me connect via HDMI to my screen graphic tablet (huion kamvas 13) or any HDMI screen, the problem started some months ago when it suddenly stopped connecting to my graphics tablet but also any second screen I would plug into the HDMI port nor detect there was anything connected in Config -> system -> screen.
- I don't know a lot about tech so excuse me if I describe my problem in an unspecific way, I'll try my best.
When it first happened, I did my research and fixed it going to windows, searching "cmd", opening as administrator and writing msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic to enter a problem solver window that solved the issue, then I restarted the computer and it worked again just fine, this happened 3 times during last 3 months but I fixed it with just that, I was okay until june 1st when it failed again.
It failed to connect again but doing what I previously did isn't working and I already tried doing a few things I found on some posts here but nothing seems to work:
- Resetting the graphics card with Windows key + crtl + shift + B (did nothing)
- Disabling the Intel graphics, putting the basic Microsoft ones and then the Intel ones again, then restarting the computer (This worked and everything was okay until I turned off the tablet and it stopped working again, now when I try to solve it this way, it won't work either)
- All things on the computer are updated and the cables work just fine, the screens too
- In windows -> typing "CMD" and opening as an administrator I also did:
- sfc/Scannow
- DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
- DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
I'm an illustrator/animator and really need the screen on my graphics tablet to work or I'll go insane, I'm not very good at computer problems so I really need help, I can still use it without the screen but I don't think ignoring the problem will do me any good as I won't even be able to plug a second screen.
Additional information about my laptop:
- Intel(R) HD Graphics 630
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
Thank you in advance to anyone who can tell me any extra thing I could do or that maybe encountered the same problem as me and knows exactly what happened, sorry if I didn't explain myself well, please ask me questions if you need more info.
