Lutry question

I have super sensitive feet and I’m trying to find some Birks that will really soften up and mold to my feet. I just got a pair of Lutrys delivered today and they feel great during initial try on, but I noticed the end of the toe box is harder and has some type of hardener or embedded lining at the end. Will that soften up with wear or do they remain hard? Thanks!
