Diagnosed 2 weeks ago, and the world feels like crumbling apart

Type 2

Hi all. It feels surreal but not unexpected to find myself in this place. I got diagnosed with diabetes two weeks ago, with 7.6% HbA1C. I'm not sure what to do with myself right now. I took a week off from work so I can try and process this information, but it doesn't feel like I did. I started on metformin, right away but I'm constantly hungry or hugging the toilet after eating virtually anything. I don't have motivation to do anything or can't focus on anything. The world just slips through my fingers, and I don't know what to do. Does it get better? I feel so empty but want to cry so badly. My feet started hurting again, and the chronic pain I had since March is not helping me to snap out of it.

I know this post doesn't bring in anything into discussion. I just... need some space to let out what's in my head. My family lives in a different country and I live alone with 2 cats that I don't want to disappoint because of my poor mental state right now. I can read all the articles on the internet I want but I still feel very lost.
