Alternative to the Rogers Gateway

Having no coverage issues with the gen 3 but the performance and clunky nature of the web portal + app combo, no dns settings other than through parental controls.

just looking for recommendations that have worked well for other people, I do not want to use bridge mode, just looking for a replacement with similar coverage or better. I have the 1g plan, and preferably want 4 ethernet ports.
