Samaritans

I've been ringing them on and off for 3 weeks now. First 4 calls they didn't answer. Then a few were th line was just cut off after ringing for a few times... Then the next few was no answer. After a 15 minute wait of holding on the line this older guy answered. He asks me a few questions. Simple stuff, I explain a few things. Not even on the phone for 3 minutes and he goes quiet. And still quiet...

Then I say 'are you tired?' And he sounded half conscious when he mumbled 'mhmm' and then he's quiet still. Silence for 30 odd seconds. I speak to him whilst he's drifting off to sleep.

I said 'I understand, this must be a hard job. I'd fall asleep listening to me too. I forgive you' Then I hang up. Im done. When your thoughts say no one cares, it's true.
