Why Isagi Yoichi is wildly overrated, and is by far(physical ability wise) one of the worst players in blue lock.
Note: A lot of what I am saying is primarily applying what Isagi can do in REAL football, not the original blue lock matches where it was first to 5 wins.
First, Scaling.
Noel Noa won the Ballon D'or, and the World Cup in 2018.
The best players in the world at the time, was 3 Peat UCL winner Cristiano Ronaldo, and 2 Peat European Golden Shoe winner, Lionel Messi, who would go on to 3 Peat the award.
with Noel outscaling them for the Ballon D'or that year, we can use that as a benchmark.
With Cristiano Ronaldo having a better performance than Lionel Messi that year, we can conclude in short, Noel Noa's prime scales slightly above a slightly post prime, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Noa played in the NEL, which scales most players who put up a good fight against him at a similar scale.
Think about it.
Isagi can't...dribble.
He's not strong.
He's not that fast.
His passing is egregious.
His aerial ability is...alright.
His skills are abysmal.
His defending is negligible.
His defensive IQ is bad as well.
His teamwork sucks, cause, this is well, Blue Lock.
He has three and only three skills.
Offensive, attacking IQ.
Finishing, striking the ball not particularly strong, but strong enough, accurate, unpredictable and capable of doing so from rather uncomfortable angles of the body.
And Positioning, easily his most important.
staying onside and yet always in the right place in the right time to be there to smash the ball into the net.
But...that's really it.
The guy is basically a weaker, smarter version of Erling Haaland or literally CURRENT. 40 year old Cristiano Ronaldo.
Barou is stupendously strong.
Loki is fast.
Nagi has insane skill and ball control.
Kaiser has insane shot power.
Kunigami is strong and has shot power.
Sae is smarter than Isagi and more skillful.
Rin is more skillful, as smart as isagi, better defensively and equal to him in all except positioning.
Chigiri is far, FAR faster and even a little more skillful.
Shidou is far better in the air, and seemingly has more shot power.
Bachira is light years more skillful, and also seemingly faster, and way superior at passing.
Sure, Isagi is a great player mentally, top 10 in the world of blue lock if we scale him accordingly to Noel.
but physically he is bodied by literally almost every singular player in blue lock.
Hell, in a real game where people know how much of a threat Isagi is, without the physical attributes his rivals have, he will not shine as much as them.
Sure he will score a goal here and there.
But no matter how smart and how far he can think ahead.
There's only so much you can do without a physically capable body when two defenders basically sandwich you.
In my opinion, Isagi Yoichi is nowhere near the best player in blue lock.
Potential wise, Nagi is the best.
Physically, Barou.
IQ wise, Rin.
Speed wise, Chigiri.
skillfully, Bachira.
As a package, Rin is easily the best player in blue lock.
Yall can call me crazy but that's my opinion.
Isagi is NOT top 5(physically) in blue lock!
