Eris Studio 5 vs Kali LP-6 V2 vs JBL 306P MKII / 308P MKII

Purchasing Asia

Hey everyone, I'm setting up a home studio mainly for rapping and mixing vocals, and eventually want to get into beat production as well (hip-hop, trap, etc.). I'm currently torn between a few studio monitors and would love some help deciding based on value, clarity for vocal mixing, and low-end accuracy.

Here are my options (Indian prices, for context):

Presonus Eris Studio 5 – ~₹32K/pair

Kali Audio LP-6 V2 – ~₹40K/pair

JBL 306P MKII – ~₹26K/pair

JBL 308P MKII – ~₹32K/pair

I know the LP-6 V2 is technically better than the Eris 5 (wider sweet spot, better low-end extension), but I'm wondering if it’s worth the ₹10K price jump, considering my medium sized room.

Also confused between the LP-6 V2 vs JBL 306P MKII — both have similar specs but jbl is way more cheaper, However, the 308P MKII is only slightly more expensive and gives more power and bass.

My main priorities:

Good for rap vocals & mixing

Enough bass for hip-hop beat production

Accurate sound (not overly hyped lows)

I can use it in long run and also for semi treated room

Would love to hear Which would you go for, and why?

Thanks in advance 🙏
