[PC][2000-2013] side scrolling shoot em up were you controlled a space ship 2D sprites from what i remember

i think you could customize the ship with a very metal art style that when you killed an enemy ship there guys would parachute out sometimes and land on the ground had quite a bit of blood on the human enemies you could fight. When you died you could also hop out of the ship and fight with a mini human guy with a jetpack. I can't remember for the life of me the game and would like some help.
