desperation after isolation
Im male and 26, I socially isolated myself for around 5 years after my grandma who was my mother figure died. In the meantime I had a single girlfriend 3 years ago, and that’s pretty much it. Recently I have been getting to know friends and putting myself out there, going out and stuff
First week was without a doubt fantastic but I realized all of my friends hooked up except me which has been making me anxious and desperate. This is something that has been happening to me the times I have attempted to go out these past few years. My desperation has been big, it makes people uncomfortable and it makes me ashamed. I have a good remote job, Im a manager. I make a decent living, I AM overweight now, used to be fit before isolation, I have been working on this by going to the gym and diet. I used to be a loser with a bad job who was a cocky immature weeb but still had a girlfriend every so often, now I have learned to be kind, understanding and respectful but that just seem to add to people thinking im desperate. I will do therapy I just don’t see this issue being fixed short term and it sucks.
I just wanna know, is this really my life now? Am I really going to be alone for years until this is fixed with expensive therapy sessions? I was lonely before and nobody grieved with me when my grandma died but I didn’t really care about it back then but now for some reason I do. I
If there is any sort of tips that yall have to help they would be appreciated, thank you
