Baby is here

Graduation!

So my little girl arrived yesterday. She had very funny timing as I was getting contractions on the way to the hospital for my induction. I only received one dose of the meds. Timeline: arrived/checked in at 10 pm, received the pill at about 12 am, epidural at 4 am (ahead of the pain), and sweetheart arrived at 12:02 pm.

Her pushing time was about 10-15 minutes. It was much faster than I expected and I really did cry because she was immediately crying upon arrival. My husband was there the entire time making sure family was updated but that I was given time to rest as well, and also entertained so I could stay awake towards the end.

My nurses on both labor and postpartum as well as for the baby have been wonderful. I do want to give a little warning for you all, though. I didn't get a lot of my bleeding done during delivery, the pushing on the stomach hurt and kept revealing more and more but has become normal. This isn't the issue, though. The first time I was allowed out of bed and they were getting the pad and underwear on me a lot came out as I standing. It was all over the floor. After getting the pad/underwear pulled up with assistance I took a step to try and get away from the mess and I immediately slipped in it. My nurse was excellent, she got me up and had others come in to help her care for me. Luckily I was just scared and my knee was hurt but just due to previous stress/trauma. It was a total accident and not necessarily avoidable but they did put me on watch.

This is just a reminder to be careful mama's and dont move too quickly on your own. Even if the situation isn't ideal, perhaps make sure you are totally safe before doing something. And advocate for you and baby!
