Going to court regarding a car (uk)

We brought a car in November last year, was faulty from the day after purchase its since cost me £4’000 in repairs and still doesn’t perform as it should. Garage I brought it off tried to fix it once but didn’t help so I went to 4 different garages. We’ve been informed by our legal team that the garage does not have the finances to pay us and we may not win and as I noticed the fault when I test drove it that was me buying it knowing there was a fault apparently, but was explained away as “this gear box does feel a little responsive as it’s a new type of gearbox” We’re not going to be able to re sell the car as it jumps about at the start of the drive so easy to notice somethings up. I can’t take much more stress from this, the court date is end of august if that helps. What do I do here ? Thanks in advance.
