Jazzy ideas for "The Final Countdown"

So I played this tune with a string orchestra a couple of times and the conductor always wants me to solo. Not being able to play the original solo note for note, I always improvised in a bluesy style. As the conductor basically allows me great creative freedom, I thought I could add some jazzy flavors in the future. Any ideas how I could solo over a rock song adding a bit of jazzy flavor?
