Animal with red ish eyes chased my cat

Now, I understand this may not be the best sub and if there’s any better ones please tell me!

Alright so this happened last year but was always on my mind, and tonight I decided to search it up, couldn’t find anything. But I remember my cat Sarah ran through the cat door and seemed terrified, when I looked through the cat through door I saw 2 red eyes staring back before leaving, now I didn’t go after it Incase it could kill or Injure me, but I live in a very rural and rich area (Santa Clara California) so there’s not much big predators, but once I have seen a coyote with rabies run down the other street, so it’s not Impossible, but I am pretty sure coyotes don’t have red eyes, what could this be?
