Why do fans always insist to have an R rated Jurassic film without thinking of the target audience which is: Children.

Granted the book itself had alot of brutal deaths, some strong language and gore. However, for the movies itself I don't think Universal won't do that and keep it on a PG 13 rating because they know that the target audiences of the films are basically children and if they make it R rated the merchandise won't work and the reception won't go well.
