Why don't people like being challenged?

Random Question :snoo_thoughtful:

I know this is a stupid question, but hear me out:

Why is questioning society, or beliefs, or thoughts, seen as such a bad thing? If we all believed the same things, nothing would change. I'm aware that this is seen as rude, however, isn't this necessary for the benefit of society? We can't innovate without new ideas. We can't improve if things stay the same.

And humans haven't stayed the same throughout history. We need to have new ideas in order to change.

And if questioning isn't the right way to go about it, then what is? Should I make something people like instead?
