Is this a valid ICT setup? NQ buy-side liquidity grab followed by manipulation — used standard deviation for projection
Hey,
I’m relatively new to ICT concepts and trying to understand if I’ve correctly identified a valid setup here. I’d love some feedback from the more experienced folks in the community.
Here’s what I’m seeing:
- Buy-Side Liquidity Grab : On the NQ chart, we took out a equal highs, which I believe triggered a buy-side liquidity grab. This seems consistent with ICT principles where price moves to target and absorb liquidity before reversing.
- Manipulation Downward : After the liquidity grab, price started moving down aggressively. This looks like manipulation to me, as it’s a sharp move that seems designed to shake out weak hands.
- Standard Deviation Projection : To gauge the potential of this move, I used standard deviation levels to project possible areas where price might reverse or consolidate.
Questions I have:
- Does this look like a valid setup to you?
- Am I correct in identifying the buy-side liquidity grab and manipulation?
- Is using standard deviation a reasonable approach to project the potential depth of this move, or is there a better method within ICT principles?
Any feedback or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated! I’m still learning, so feel free to point out anything I might be missing or misinterpreting.
Thanks in advance for your help!
