Cat with Cholangitis having fever symptoms?

Species: cat Age: 8 Sex/neuter status: male neutered Breed: unknown, medium haired black cat Weight: around 10 lbs

Short history:

  • gingivitis history, had teeth removed, no inflammation since
  • some urinary issues, on prescription diet to prevent crystals/blockage
  • in and out of vet and er all last week got disgnosis of cholangitis

Clinical signs: Initially vomiting, lethargy, hiding, painful meows, refusal to eat (We got him on meds that directly support the liver and bile, antibiotics, and supportive meds. Since doing this he is much better. He is eating, cuddly, not hiding, but still a bit sleepy and not back to 100%) Past 3 days started getting very congested and tonight feeling a bit warm

Tests: he has had xrays, urinalysis, and ultrasound that ultimately gave him his diagnosis

Location: midwest united states

We informed his vet of the more recent congestion and she didnt seem to have much of a reaction so we figured it is probably somewhat normal or fine. I just wanted to ask here as well since we have been to our vet so much the past week and it has been a lot of information to keep up with. He is very congested and a little warm, but otherwise doing really well. Does this just come with fighting off the infection? Or should we be more concerned? Please please please answer. It feels like we just got through such a tough week and if he needs more care i want to get it to him before the weekend comes and an er visit would be required. For the next two days we can take him to his regular vet if needed.
