POE just for power

Hi all,

Quick question on POE here, i want to place a x55 outdoor unit in my yard where there is no power but there is wifi, so i want to add an AP there to get wifi extended around a corner of my garage to where there is no wifi.

Can i use poe for that, for power only, or will the x55 assume that when there is a cable plugged in then that should include data too?

So summed up i want to use poe for power and wifi for data :)
