College not making changes in leaving certificate

Throwaway account for privacy. Recently i came to know that the caste mentioned on my LC includes my sub caste of which i have no proof. My caste certificate only mentions my main caste and not the sub caste. I’m gonna take admission in a higher educational institution soon and if there’s a discrepancy they might cancel my admission. I approached my junior college for a change but they are reluctant even though it mentions on the LC that they can change the entries. Will the institution take the difference seriously or not? What can i do if they cancel my admission? Is the LC cross verified with the issuing body?
