Employer did not pay me. What can I possibly do?

I am working as independent contractor with a UK based company. Started working with them last month and we agreed that the payment will be every 15th of the month. It was supposedly my first pay from them last July 15 but the TA manager which I am under is no longer responding since Friday of last week. I tried searching for ways on how to claim my payment and read somewhere that I can file a claim on money claim court, but it has a fee. I am from a poor country so the fee for me is really expensive.

The company is registered in the UK but their registered mailing address is different from the mailing address on their website. They don’t have any linkedin or glassdoor presence with is kinda sus to me. I know, I also have mistake here because even though I notice the red flag, I still give it a shot. I did not release any amount of money. Just my time and effort.

I have employment agreement which is signed by both parties, copy of my work, and also using an email tracker so I know they read my emails but is not responding. I did multiple follow ups since last July 15 about the pay but no response.

If I file this on money claim court and pay for the fee, will it be worth it?
