Do I need Instagram to stay connected at college?

Hey everyone,
I’m new to this sub and will be joining BPHC for MSc Economics this year. Some seniors suggested I make an Instagram account to feel more connected with the batch and campus activities. However, I’m unsure. I had briefly used Instagram in Grade 11 but deleted it after a few months, and I’ve stayed off social media for the past two years while preparing during my drop year.

I’m concerned about the time and distraction it might bring, as I believe it often does more harm than good. Do you think not having Instagram would make me feel left out or disconnected at college? I’d really appreciate your honest views.
