Test Rode the Honda CB200X, Chose the Yamaha Aerox 155
I was seriously considering the Honda CB200X — it’s a solid bike: upright, torquey single-cylinder, and handles our roads decently. I took it for a test ride, and while the ride was smooth, it didn’t entirely click for city traffic and my daily needs.

Instead, I went for the Yamaha Aerox 155 (scooter). Here’s why:

Why the Aerox Stood Out
1. Performance with Practicality
The Aerox 155 basically shares its engine tech with the Yamaha R15 — which means you get a genuine punch: quick acceleration, great response, and enough top end for flyovers or ring roads.

Despite being a scooter, it doesn’t feel sluggish or boring. In fact, it feels almost as sporty as a motorcycle when you twist the throttle.

2. Road Presence
This scooter turns heads. The aggressive design, LED lighting, and overall muscular look gave me constant attention on the road.

People (and other motorcyclists) actually make way for it — not something I experienced much with conventional scooters.

3. Comfort & Convenience
Automatic transmission is a blessing in Bengaluru’s legendary traffic jams!

Flat footrest, ample underseat storage (bags, groceries, full-face helmet).

Upright riding posture is super comfortable for longer city commutes.

4. City-Focused but Versatile
It’s nimble enough for quick lane changes but planted and stable at higher speed.

Decent fuel economy despite being powerful.

Why Not the CB200X?
Manual gearbox got tiring quickly in stop-go traffic.

Practical features (like storage, charging ports) were missing compared to Aerox.

While the CB200X looks great and rides well, it felt less suited to daily city life and errands.

Bengaluru Bonus
With rough roads, random speed bumps, and unpredictable traffic, a sporty scooter like the Aerox made more sense in the end. If you want a fun, practical, and stylish ride for this city, the Aerox is seriously underrated.
