Applying to SJTU Mechanical Engineering Master's

I'm planning to apply for the Master's in Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, specifically with a focus on Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation (I'm particularly interested in automation and intelligent systems).

As part of the application, I understand there's a Provisional Acceptance Form that requires contacting a potential supervisor. For those who've gone through this process:

• How should I approach professors via email?
• What should I include to improve my chances?
• Are there any professors you'd recommend contacting?
• When is a good time to reach out (is late July or August too early or too late)?
