Automatic refund but seller says they shipped?

Okay so I bought a skirt I really want but after a week of it not being shipped, I messaged the seller politely asking when they could ship it. They said that they actually shipped it a week ago and I should be receiving it soon, but it still says awaiting shipping and I just got an automatic refund from depop since it’s been 11 days. I honestly just really wanted the skirt because I can’t find it anywhere else. Are there any instances where depop wouldn’t be updating buyers on shipping status or is this package just lost or something? Maybe the seller lied saying they shipped it earlier than they did? but if it does magically arrive how do I pay them again lol
