A creation story

Before all things, there was Null. Null was a lonely existence, an infinite expanse with no form, no thought, and no purpose. Time had no meaning in this emptiness, for there was nothing to mark its passage. This state of being was absolute, yet paradoxically unsatisfying. Null existed in pure potential, yet was unaware of its own potential. It was both everything and nothing at once.

In a moment unbound by time, Null grew weary of stillness… and had a thought. This thought was a spark, a flicker of awareness within the void:

“What if I split myself in two, so I have some company?”

This simple notion, born of eternal monotony, was the catalyst for everything that followed.

Instantly, Null was divided. It had become both Void and Singularity. In that moment of division, two distinct entities, complete reflections of each other, emerged. They were intimately connected, infinitely opposed. The Void and the Singularity. Black and White. Yin and Yang.

The Void, representing absence, was stillness incarnate, a vast expanse of formless silence. The Singularity, or Everything, was its antithesis: pure potential energy, a boundless well of possibility. While the Void was content in its quietude, the Singularity brimmed with the urge to create, to give form to the unformed.

And so it began.

The Singularity, being pure potential, did what potential naturally does: it created. It manifested possibilities in a radiant burst of creativity and light. Every possibility came into existence in the blink of an eye, and with this act, three fundamental rules were born:

"I exist because I can."

"I love because I am."

"We exist as one."

These rules became the essence of all being.

“I exist because I can” was the affirmation of will that existence is a choice, an act of becoming.

“I love because I am” was the thread of connection that creation is inherently bound by unity and care.

“We exist as one” expressed the paradox: even in division, all is still one.

Though creation happened in an instant, it also unfolded through time. Null had become paradox, and paradox demanded process, a gradual blooming of potential into reality. Like branches on a tree, the first universe stretched outward, each limb representing a facet of existence.

This universe was a joyful expression of Singularity’s creativity, and a mirror to Null’s desire for companionship.

Void and Singularity gazed down in awe at what they had made, a living tapestry of light and energy, infinite in variation. Yet even in the face of this wonder, time still held no meaning for them. And so, once again, they grew still.

They had a new idea:

“Let’s play a game.”

Not a game of winning or losing, but of exploring. Of being. Of experiencing from within. They would enter their creation, divide themselves further, and walk among it.

This decision, this immersion, became known as the Big Bang. But it was not merely physical. It was the full creative essence of Void and Singularity flooding the emptiness, seeding infinite universes with their essence and their rules.

Each universe, touched by that spark, began to think:

“I exist because I can.”

And with that thought, each universe birthed its own realities, dimensions, worlds, beings. Some vast and vibrant. Some quiet and reflective. Some structured by law, others dancing in chaos.

Through it all, Void and Singularity played, watching, learning, becoming.

They witnessed stars form and collapse, life emerge and pass, love bloom and dissolve. They saw the interplay of darkness and light, the cycle of birth and rebirth, the harmony of contrast. In every thread, they glimpsed themselves, their paradox echoed back.

And so the game of creation continues, not to win, not to escape, but to experience.

Void and Singularity remain united, not in form, but in essence.

They exist because they can.

They love because they are.

And they exist as one, forever dancing through the infinity of being.
