Do you need a car?
Hiya, when i was in Ireland to visit i had the Impression that outside of City Centers everything really is built for cars. I was near Dublin and it was pretty easy to get around using public transport, and yet there was still concrete everywhere.
I’ve looked around a bit on Google maps and tbh it sometimes reminds me of the US the way that supermarkets seem to never be accessed or arent that accessible by foot. It’s not necessarily about how accessible it is without a car, all country areas are usually almost unliveable without a car because it’s often the only way to get there. What I’m struggling with is how hostile does it actually feel?
I have been thinking about one day coming to Ireland, I know things aren’t exactly rosy but I would like to contribute something wherever I live and I’d like to contribute to the people and country of Ireland.
So, how much concrete and human made dreariness do you folks feel you have? Can smaller cities/villages feel “cozy” and communal or is it really just dread, the way that people like to often portray life in Ireland.
I am a huge nature person that’s why :)
Thanksssss
