My dad walked in on me showering and dodged responsibility by low-key blaming me

im 18f staying at my uncles house. theres only one bathroom which is inconvenient for 6 people. the shower curtains didnt move because they were tied to the window curtains next to the shower i didnt think anything of it because i was showering at 11pm, everyone’s usually asleep by then because my family members are like 60-70 years old. also i wasn’t sure if i was even allowed to undo the knot. i still have no clue what it’s there for, but even when it’s the curtain doesnt stretch all the way.

so i was showering when my dad opens the door, not a crack mind you but a whole fucking foot open so his whole head is poking in. and he doesn’t duck his head down and apologise and leave. he LOOKS right at me , i have to shout “what the fuck?!” before he says oh and leaves.

now if he had at least TRIED to avoid looking and APOLOGISED i probably wouldn’t have been so angry because we’re kind of close (i guess?) and he’s rarely ever made me feel uncomfortable (in that way). but that didn’t happen. in fact he acted like nothing happened until i reminded him that KNOCKING DOESNT EQUAL PERMISSION, ITS ASKING FOR PERMISSION, AND HE DIDNT RECEIVE IT. he started yapping about how im supposed to take down the curtain knot and he knocked (if he really did, i didn’t hear) blah blah blah. and i had to ASK for an apology. he said a two-word apology before telling me to calm down. like hell. why is this about the fucking shower curtain? what if i had been changing? what if i’d just ended my shower and needed to step out to get my towel? what if i was on the toilet wiping or putting a pad in? it’s not about the fucking curtain. he just dodges responsibility (and he does this in a lot of other situations too, especially when it involves my poor mother).

this is not the first time he has entered the bathroom/bedroom without permission, this is just the first time it has actually led to consequences (at MY EXPENSE) because he doesn’t learn or listen. i locked the door of the room im staying in and let out my frustration by punching my pillow and shouting honestly rather quietly and shortly. guess what happens. he knocks and tries to open the door before i can respond. fucking thing. i’m currently searching for a portable door lock to use at home because we have no interior locks at my house.
