Best way to backtrack and get all fossils in Bananza?

I just beat the first layer. I'm planning to do every layer blind and then go back and 100% each layer after I beat them. This is obviously easy with the banandiums because you have a list of them in the start menu. But fossils just show a number I think. What's the best way to get the rest of the fossils you haven't found without having to check each and every individual fossil location in a guide?
