Dream about my dead cat

For context, my cat of 11 years was killed nearly a year ago by a dog my parents had randomly adopted.

I dreamt that I was walking through a forest. The sky was rather cloudy, but it was daytime. It also seemed that none of the trees had any leaves. In the forest I eventually came across my cat, who was sitting and facing me without moving as if expecting me to find her. She remained still until I approached her and picked her up, she was entirely calm in my arms (she usually didn't like when I picked her up) and reached out to paw to my chest. I continued through the woods with her in my arms, and we encountered two humanoid creatures in the forest. The first one we encountered was red, and it covered the area in a web-like structure that seemed to be made out of flesh, presumably in an attempt to trap us. I ran away from it as fast as I could and it lost interest pretty quickly. The next, who we found shortly after escaping the red one, was pitch black and appeared to be less aggressive. Its body was bent uncomfortably starting around its upper abdomen, although it seemed as though this was the natural state of its body rather than any sort of injury. It watched us without moving an inch forward, I'm not sure what its motive was or if it was hostile. I left it before long, which it didn't seem to care about. Not much else that I find noteworthy occurred, other than that towards the end the scene switched to a grocery store and I began to cry when I realized she was with me no longer. Either some device or a person in the store was playing Nights That Won't Happen by Purple Mountains, particularly the third verse of the song. I woke up still crying as I was in my dream.
