Brain surgery…..

I have a medical condition called Chiari Malformation. It’s where the cerebellum has over grown down into the space or your skull where spinal fluid passed between the brain and spinal cord, this creates uneven pressure causing headaches when you cough, strain, or laugh. This has also caused 2 cysts on my spinal cord that will eventually lead to nerve damage, potentially paralysis. That being said I have a husband and 3 kids, my husband and I are truck drivers and we bought a house back in November. We are comfortable with bills. Actively working the Ramsey strategy. The issue though, we have the 1k emergency fund that he says to have. This surgery will quite possibly ruin our credit as we don’t have the money saved up for me to be off work for 2 months. I should also add we are team drivers and the company we work with will require him to be on fmla the whole time. Short term disability will only be 60% of my pay….. what do I do, hold off on the surgery and risk further damage, or loose everything that we built. From living in a car to where we are now…. We have 2 car loans that are upside down so getting rid of them isn’t an option because we don’t have the money to pay the negative and our house only has like 5k of equity because we bought it so recent.
