Body like mine (v2)
I see the girl with a body Just like mine The white and red and the sweat on her skin out there To see And the shapes Just like mine
It feels personal When this body That is just like mine Is a wrong one
I didn't want to be perceived I don't want to be perceived I want to be a concept of a concept of a person She is her anxieties and she is the decision she made When she started to learn how to swim She is her holes for the earrings that heal And the minty breath But not more than that The rest of the body doesn't exist
She is the gift that she gives to her friends On the door of the fridge A magnet from holiday in the sun And a personal note on the back of a card She wrote while sitting in a cafe With the legs crossed But there are no legs Cause this body doesn't exist
She's not the body I want them to say that about me She's tender and sweet and she smells like medicine and daisies She is a dog person and doesn't read horoscopes She looks stern but she's kind and gets overstimulated in a supermarket Because of all the lights
So when I see this girl With a body That's just like mine For a minute I become her And the perception of her And it's not her words and her as a friend because I don't know much about this girl I just see the body And I hear a guy saying She could do some squats
I don't know and he doesn't know if she picks up after her mother's dog I don't know if she's got a family in town If she is afraid of the moths or clowns If her ex boyfriend still keeps the pictures of them both on instagram If maybe today her neighbor asked her to do some shopping And she is on the way To help And what she would do if she won a million dollars Maybe she's say she'd buy a car Or spend it all on charity And what others say about her Maybe she's kind and bright and have always been a bright girl But now even I don't care about that As she is so minimized By this one sentence Cause in that moment I don't see what she could be All I see Is that my body is her body
