Why is it that many people are against women having and education/ going to uni?

What’s up with especially men, saying that women shouldn’t got to uni because “ur tempted to commit zina” and other bs? I really dont understand bc my dad has been telling me since i was kid to focus on my education so man dont play me, and just in general to have my own money and not fully depend on a man.. Just sounds like they dont want women to have an education to keep them dumb and nothing else if you ask me.
