Doubt : How mind generates a number.

When someone asks you tell a number, you people have control over the outcome or its thrown out by mind to you.

Numbers are discovered more than invented, so what's the connection between mind and the number.

Mind can't generate smell or picture. Then how mind generates number.

Can anyone share their opinion on this ?
