Dating and being ghosted after long term relationship ended. Are there serious men anymore?
For context, I’m 25, I ended my 7yr relationship with an abusive man and he was a cheater. I moved back with my family and had to get the first job I could find to keep myself afloat, which is a cleaner.
My ex got in a relationship a month later with the woman he was already talking to before we ended. It’s been a few months and I wanted to see what’s out there, date a little.
My first “date” - the guy seemed to have an awesome personality, and he was super attractive. We talked for a while before meeting. I thought we clicked really well in person, he had some red flags like not being able to hold down a job, no long term relationship (30), always moving. But he was really nice. Buuuut next day - ghosted. I did manage to finally get one response from him days later when I asked what the vibe was and if he’d like to keep his options open. He just proceeded to tell me pretty much that he is an ambitious man that would eventually like to earn good money and would like to find a similar woman who can split bills and a how he likes to go out a lot and I’m too introverted. We did speak about my job, not how I ended up in it, and a bit about my life. So he knew this before we even saw each other. So I’m unsure why he’d bother with meeting anyway.
He doesn’t even know my situation because we never even got into stuff like that, and it felt a little judgemental and sad. He only just started renting his own apartment at 30, which is fine, I’m just confused and hurt by that all.
This all just feels like a lot of overwhelming rejection. I’ve been going to a few interviews too and not getting them, so between the breakup and the dating it’s all very overwhelming. I’ve been trying to do healthy stuff on the side like gym, exercise, hobbies, hanging out with friends. I’d just like to meet someone nice and go on fun dates or something.
