BRP NFC chip completely dead - what are my options? Freaking out

I'm trying to extend my skilled worker visa and my BRP NFC chip is totally dead for the ID check. I have verified this with multiple phones and a third party NFC scanner.

Incredibly my passport NFC is completely fine, but they don't let you use your passport unless you have an EEA passport anymore.

Genuinely don't know what to do - I'm supposed to leave the country twice before my visa expires so my windows are incredibly narrow
