LG S80QR vs JBL Bar 500 Mk.2 for bass
Hi all,
I currently have an old JBL SB400 which has an 8" 200W sub and sounds pretty well. I am buying a second TV and soundbar/sub combo for another room and I'm looking at either the LG S80QR or JBL Bar 500 Mk.2 for the soundbar/sub.
I'm not really concerned by the surround functionality (2.1 is fine for 99% of my use case) it just needs to punch hard with the bass and I don't want a step down from by current JBL SB 400.
At a (very) simplistic level, the bigger the driver, the lower the bass. The JBL has a 10" driver with a 300W amp and runs down to 40Hz, but I can't find any specs on the LG's driver. Does anyone know how big the actual subwoofer driver is in the LG and what the frequency response is...?
Any advice on choosing between the two...?
TIA...!
