Where do you find your sludge/stoner/doom shows and scene?

Just moved to Washington. I've heard that Seattle is supposed to be big on sludge because of the melvins but i can't seem to find anything here besides hardcore and (horrible) metalcore. Is there anything here? Or anywhere? Is every sludge/doom band just in the southeast US?
