Bad things as a consequence of sin

So I (cradle, 29f) have a feeling this wanders into iffy superstitious territory, but just wanna vent the thoughts out loud so they’re not in my head, you know?

Do you ever feel like bad things happen right after you sin? Not in a logical consequence way, but in a Coincidence kind of way. For a purely absolutely 100% hypothetical example (/s), say you give in to a sin and then suddenly there’s a cockroach on your ceiling above your bed at 1am and now you feel like God’s gonna allow another bug infestation because you weren’t really trying to stop a sin cycle.

I’m cradle but I’ve still struggled for a very long time with the idea of there being a big cosmic hand just waiting to come down from the sky and smack you if you do anything wrong. I know that’s not how it works, that God is supreme love who cares about me deeply and isn’t just waiting to play “gotcha.” But then stuff like this happens and the anxious part of my brain likes to see cause and effect where it isn’t necessarily warranted.
