(Remake) The Parasites in Leon/Ashley and Ada

I feel like I missed a detail here, but how come Ada was able to vomit out the parasite from her body, while Leon (and Ashley) had to use Luis’s machine?

They were infected around the same time, and only Ashley was forced to drink the black liquid that accelerated the growth of the parasite. They all got just one dose of the suppressant.
