This concept of being fair towards media

It kind of came to me when i was watching a GTA 3 retrospective and the youtuber asked "Is it fair that i judge GTA 3 for not aging very well despite me not even being born yet when it came out?"

who the hell cares if it's fair or not! this isn't a court of law. critics/fans aren't required to BE fair. hell, i shit on skyrim because it's buggy as hell but also because i don't think it deserves to be as popular as it is, especially when bethesda needs modders to fix it.

we're the consumers. what we say goes in terms of the media we consume, and we aren't required to justify ourselves.
