Any good snorkeling spots or small towns near Mellieħa (by bus)?
Hi all! My mom and I are staying at the Ramla Bay Resort in Mellieħa, Malta, and we’re exploring everything by bus. We’re looking for places to visit within around 30–40 minutes (a bit more is fine if it’s worth it).
We’re open to touristy spots in general, but when it comes to snorkeling and small towns, we’d really prefer places that are quieter and more local.
We’d love recommendations for: • Snorkeling spots with clear water and rocky areas (not too crowded if possible) • Small historic towns or villages that feel authentic • Any nice nature areas, bays, or lookouts reachable by bus
Also happy to hear your tips on: • Quiet beaches (even if touristy, as long as it’s worth it) • Local foods or snacks to try nearby • Any underrated spots or hidden gems
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Are there fireworks or local holidays for the people of Malta? Someone told me about these. If so, can tourists join in these activities
