Best card to get perks for a large, unexpected expense
Hello all, my family just got hit with an unexpected expense for a home repair issue (around 15k). We do have cash to cover that, but would rather not as that is the bulk of our reserve for emergency living expenses in the event of job loss, etc. Rather than finance through the contractor, we would rather get some perks from this. We are considering dividing this over two credit cards. Our idea is we could open one card for travel perks, and open another card offering 0% interest. I see that there is a Chase Marriott Bonvoy card offering three free nights at a hotel after a $3k payment. So we are thinking maybe we pay $3k on that card (and pay it off), then put $12k on an interest free card and pay over time.
My question for you all is are you aware of any good promotions right now other than the Bonvoy promotion for something like this? And any suggestions on an interest free card?
I did fill out the template below in case it’s helpful. Thanks in advance!
