How are you gonna hide it from Demerzel?

After all, you know that she always has been and always will be, all cleon clones have mandated Memory Audits, and has Demerzel has been fandangling the prime gradient for at least 1.5 centuries now. But, hey, the Shadow Master position has seemingly been vacant ever since the assassination attempt on Season 2 Cleon, so you have that going for ya.

Season 2 had the implication that Demerzel knew about Dawn and Cloud Dominion's Affair, yet still needed to use the threat of doing a memory audit as leverage against the assertion that Dawn is innocent in all of this. Granted, Rue, Season 2 Dusk's Brother Therapist, instantly knew an affair was happening the moment she saw Dawn go to protect her queen during the Execution Debacle, so it wasn't a well kept secret.

That said, Dusk and Dawn, throughout season 1 and 2 seem to be able to go on out on trips without Demerzel as security (her job seems to be being Day's Security detail), so it's not out of the question that Demerzel only has memory audits to rely on--outside of a spymaster/head of security still alive for her to get the lay-down with.

So... since Brother Dude is clearly spending empire resources Gambling and Hedonism-ing his problems away, I think I, as Dusk, would try to figure out how to hide the Galactic Sniper Rifle Construction behind personal Brother Dude-like enrichment shenanigans. That, or play the long game and have the scientists come up with the thing themselves (which it seems like they did), but poke and prod them to make sure what they produce is a means of securing the current Boundaries of Empire... in order for the Memory Audits to not look suspicious.
